The Cumberland Hotel Marble Arch is a very busy ultra efficient run hotel where all the staff go up a gear for service. Breakfast times run like clockwork. Never a shortage of choice of food, constant tea and coffee, without having to look for someone. This is our second visit to this hotel and definately not the last. The Wembley Stadium Tour was well worth the trip out to.Very interestinf even if not too fussed on football. We did a show each evening and difficult to say which was best! I think Hairspray, only because we had seen Phantom and We Will Rock You before, last year.

The tube entrance is next door to the hotel, the station is actually below the foyer. Easy to find way around London by tube. Good location for Oxford street shopping and in evening walk the street behind Oxford street for about ten minutes and you will find loads of old English pubs and many restaurants, we went to a French one it was gorgeous. Have been to this hotel a few times would go back again. Blood Brothers - Have seen many west end shows but this one is one of the best, excellent acting , funny , sad and entertaining all in an afternoon! would go and see it again.

Check in was 2pm - we went and it was heaving, went back at 6pm after shopping and 3 people on desk, all dealing with check in - after 10 min wait we were taken to another desk - told our twin room wasnt avail and after more delay asked if we would like sep room - absolutely not was our response. The lady disappeared twice during checkin to 'talk to my manager' and eventually we were offered a superior king size room - it was now 6.30 - we didnt really have a lot of choice... the check in process and excuse as to why this had happened would make me reluctant to use the hotel again, however, the room itself was nice enough with a view over hyde park and breakfast was amazing if a little bleak ref surroundings and hoards of people Rest of our weekend went well, shopping as usual great, for a bank holiday weekend it was quiet. Dinner in Soho was fabulous - The Boulevard, set menue for 15.95 - brilliant food/service... highly recommend!

Stayed for 2 nights at the Cumberland Hotel. Room spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. Lifts really efficient. Lobby artistic and impressive but size of hotel made it feel a bit impersonal. The tour of the Buckingham Palace State Rooms was brilliant - opulence and style that made us feel proud to be British. Also loved the musical Joseph - great music.
